ROY AYERS PROJECT (TRAILER)

Check out the trailer for the Roy Ayers Project by fellow Distortion 2 Static/SWTBRDS fam.

‘The Roy Ayers Project is proud to release our third trailer, and we are also excited to make a big announcement for the near future. As we begin to shape the Roy Ayers documentary from start to finish, we are going to begin to release more footage, more often, so we can give the viewers more of an insight to who Roy Ayers is, as well as his influence. Starting today, we will release a clip from our exclusive footage every 2 weeks so we can share our footage with true fans of Roy Ayers, as well as gaining new fans who just may be learning about his legacy. We will also begin a online fundraising effort to support our independent hustle, which gives you (no matter where you are) the opportunity to support us and be a part of the Roy Ayers Project.’

davinci - pangea

one part ‘fuck you, ima get mine’, one part homage to the great dexter wansel.

Mirroring the untouched nature of Wansel’s song, the song’s title represents DaVinci’s current state in his career. “Pangea symbolizes something in it’s pure, original form, as well as creation and birth,” he explains. “I dropped my debut album last year and I’m about to drop my EP, so this is all still a part of the creation of me as an artist.” Despite the airy, psychedelic feel of the song, he still brings the fire lyrically, dropping lines like, “Listen, I never had a pot to piss in/ Not to mention a block that ain’t hot to pitch in.”

R.I.P. LENA HORNE

lena horne represented an era of sophistication, beauty, and class that our generation will never experience first hand.  beyonce only wishes she could embody a fraction of the talent lena had.
