today is pac’s 39th bday.  not only was he a rapper, actor, activist, poet…he was also a director.  

here’s a legendary video for “ghetto theme” he shot for vallejo’s mac mall (mall was only 17 or 18 at the time of this shoot, 1994).

frank frazetta died yesterday, but he leaves behind a great legacy. his art greatly influenced my childhood, and it looks like my dream of one day having frazetta do some album art is now impossible.

lena horne represented an era of sophistication, beauty, and class that our generation will never experience first hand.  beyonce only wishes she could embody a fraction of the talent lena had.
